How the Drum Spine works

Mechanism

  • Each tick = one letter check. tick=0 → A, tick=25 → Z, tick=26 → A (wraps).
  • Full cycle = 26 ticks. At a 60-second tick rate = 26 minutes per cycle.
  • The Watchdog audits one letter per tick. Violations → coherence reduced → Council notified.

Honest scope

  • Empty record = ALL UNKNOWN. Never a silent PASS.
  • X is intrinsically UNKNOWN. It requires human reflection. No record can prove it.
  • FAIL is honest. If drift is detected, the system FAILS the Coherence check — no hedging.
