Under the EU AI Act, providers and deployers failing to meet Article 50 transparency + watermarking obligations face fines up to 7% of global annual turnover or €35M, whichever is higher. Compliance is not optional — it is a production gate. The Digital Omnibus (EU Parliament 569-45, 23 Mar 2026) delayed high-risk Annex III obligations to 2 Dec 2027 — but Article 50 is unchanged, still live on 2 Aug 2026.
